Jesus says in Luke 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? In Matthew 7:21 to 23 Jesus says; Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.  Now lets take notice of that word iniquity in the last sentence of verse 23. Websters dictionary tells us that the word iniquity means  lack of righteousness or injustice or unequal also wickedness. All four of these terms sugjests not living up to a certain standard. Proverbs 15:29 says;  The Lord is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.  Now Jesus wants us to keep his sayings which are his standards for Christian living. In John 14:15 Jesus said; If ye love me keep my commandments. If we say we are Christians and do not the things that Jesus says then we are no longer walking in fellowship with him but walking in iniquity. James 4:17 says; Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.  This is a very serious matter.  John 8:31, 32 says; Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. This is a very serious matter to all professing Christians and sinners. How might one learn of Christs sayings so we can do the things that He says to do? Go to Church and listen to the minister, read the Bible, pray for Gods help in understanding the scriptures, ask another Christian or the minister for help on issues you do not understand. Most important you want to be diligent for Hebrews 11:6 says;  But without faith it is impossible to please him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Webster's dictionary tells us that the word diligent means careful effort. Are we making a careful effort to seek Christ and learn of his sayings?  Or are we more interested in partaking of the worlds pleasures and spending the time that God gives us on our own selfish interests that will some day come to an end and we know someday they will come to an end.  Psalms 34:15 The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. To live righteously we must learn of Christ`s sayings and do them. This takes effort but God will reward.  Psalms 67:18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.
